Expert in Your Field

hi everyone !! today I am going to tell you about Lina Bo Bardi, an architect well known for her works and her way of thinking and designing.

She was born on December 5, 1992 in Rome. She studied at the School of Architecture of the University of Rome and, after graduating, she moved to Milan, where she became editor of Quiaderni di Domus Magazine. Later, when she married with Pietro Maria Bardi they decided to move to São Paulo, Brazil. It is there that her works stand out within the modern architecture of the 20th century.

It is there where Lina built her first project in 1951, the glass house, located in Morumbi, south of Sao Paulo, where she established her home, is a structure that seems to float within the nature in which it is located.

Also in 1957 she began the construction of the new headquarters of the MASP (Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo Assis Chateaubriand) on Avenida Paulista which was much admired by those who walk through it, as Lina was able to understand the Brazilian culture and express it in the construction.

Her projects include the Sesc Pompéia building in 1977, the Theater Workshop in 1984 and the Casa do Chame-Chame.

I admire very much how far she went with her architecture that cares for those who go through these spaces always taking into account the environment in which it is located, besides being one of the most important architects of Brazil, was chosen winner of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale 2021 in memoriam, unfortunately she died in 1992, however she left us an amazing legacy.
